  • Lake Erie is known and referred to as the "Walleye Capital of the World" and truly lives up to its reputation. The 28' Baha Cruiser "Walloper" is launched in April at Meinke Marina West, Curtice OH. approximately 10 miles East of Toledo. We have the capability to troll or drift for the Lake Erie walleyes. You can decide what you would like to do, or leave it up to what the Captain feels will produce the best catch.

    Our goal is to provide a great day on the water for your group. We cannot guarantee a limit catch, but we can guarantee a full effort will be utilized.

    • Lake Erie Western Basin Report September 2011 Yellow perch have been very cooperative with limit catches being taken when weather permits. Best catch rates are along the Toledo shipping channel (the #1 and 2 buoy's seems to be the best), NW of West Sister Island, the Gravel Pit, the cans around the Camp Perry firing range (A and B seem to be the best). Best catch rates are coming with crappie rigs tipped with shiners, laying on the bottom. They have been a very light bite so you must be very attentive. Walleye fishing has been sporadic (very dependent on weather) with the best catch rates coming from the Shoals around Kelley's Island and the Port Clinton reef complex. A crawler harness or weapon with a #4 gold or copper Colorado blade seems to be working best. Permalink
